On The Pulse

A Comeback, a Quiz and more Behind-the-Scenes, BLINKs, this is for you.

The wait is over. Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé are back and ready to capture BLINKs’ hearts once more with their second studio album, Born Pink.

BLACKPINK’s fab four, Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé are back in your area.

After a two-year wait since their last studio album, The Album, in 2020, the girls have finally released their second studio album, BORN PINK

The girls dropped their pre-release digital single, Pink Venom, on August 19 this year with the captivating sounds of the geomungo. What’s a geomungo, you ask? It’s a traditional Korean zither that Jisoo plays at the start of the music video. A hit with BLINKs, the girls broke Spotify records with the August 19 release of their latest single, “Pink Venom,” becoming Spotify’s most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day in 2022 so far.

This set the stage for their official comeback, as BLACKPINK leans into both classical, and retro sounds for the album. BORN PINK’s title track, Shut Down samples Niccolo Paganini’s La Campanella, blending classical music with trendy hip-hop to deliver a mysterious and alluring tune. B-side track, Yeah Yeah Yeah, which Jisoo and Rosé co-wrote, is another earworm, with its fun, ’80s synth-pop beats. The album also includes Ready For Love, a single that was released during the group’s virtual concert in August.

And BLINKs, your patience has paid off. BLACKPINK collaborated with Spotify to give fans around the world* the ability to listen to the album for free as many times as they want and in the order they wish for the first week of release. Fans can access the listen-free feature exclusively via the BORN PINK by BLACKPINK playlist.
